Pearls of wisdom book islam
Pearls of Wisdom by M. Fethullah GülenTurkish author, educator, and Muslim scholar living in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania, USA. He has been described in the English-language media as an imam who promotes a tolerant Islam which emphasises altruism, hard work and education and as one of the worlds most important Muslim figures. He is the founder of the Gülen movement (known as Hizmet meaning service in Turkish), and the inspiration figure for its largest organization, the Alliance for Shared Values. In his sermons, Gülen has constantly emphasized the importance of education and interfaith tolerance and dialogue. Gülens followers have built over 1,000 schools around the world and are engaging in interreligious and intercultural social activities.
Gülen does not advocate a new theology but refers to classical authorities of theology, taking up their line of argument. His understanding of Islam tends to be moderate and mainstream. Gülen is inspired from Said Nursis teachings and modernizes them. His teachings differ in emphasis from those of other mainstream Islamic scholars in two respects, both based on his interpretations of particular verses of the Quran. He teaches that the Muslim community has a duty of service (Turkish: hizmet) to the common good of the community and the nation and to Muslims and non-Muslims all over the world and that the Muslim community is obliged to conduct dialogue with not just the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), and people of other religions, but also with agnostics and atheists.
Gülen is actively involved in the societal debate concerning the future of the Turkish state, and Islam in the modern world.

Pearls of Wisdom in Hajj
Hajj in Islam is fardh compulsory for every Muslim who is capable of and can afford it. None of the believers wishes to go to the hereafter with a debt to Allah and they are honoured to pay this debt. Comprehending the importance of hajj in the verses and ahadith, the Muslims for centuries have been going to hajj, sometimes on foot and saddle beasts, sometimes by ships in spite of all hardships. All the way from very far distanc even through the continents they have been trying to receive the blessings of hajj. When we analyze them, it is seen that there are two great benefits of hajj. First is the personal and the latter is social.

The little boy, still wondering why women cry, finally asked the old wise shaikh scholar. He made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. He gave an inner strength to endure both childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children. He gave her a toughness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining. He gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child hurts her badly. He gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart. He gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
