The Prince and the Pauper is a book consisted of 33 chapters that are named shortly and announce the theme of the chapter. It is an additional comment of the story teller in which we find out the faith of the characters after the novel is done. The novel has a short prolog in which Twain speaks of the difference between literature and history in a way a Greek philosopher stated it. It says that history tells what happened and literature tells what could have happened. Identity swap is a common theme of literary works.

Summary Chapter 33 Miles Hendon lost his money in the riot to pickpockets. He sets out to find Edward. He finally becomes tired and falls asleep. Before he falls asleep, he hears the canon announcing the crowning of the new king. He decides to find Humphrey Marlow and borrow somemoney. He goes to the palace and sees the whipping boy.

Loitering around the palace gates one day, he meets Edward Tudor , the Prince of Wales. Coming too close in his intense excitement, Tom is nearly caught and beaten by the Royal Guards. However, Edward stops them and invites Tom into his palace chamber.
