Blue bloods enemy of my enemy
Enemy Of My Enemy (Executive Office #2) by Tal Bauer
5++++ Stars !
Enemy of My Enemy is the mind-blowing, action-packed, fast-paced, heart wrenching, gut clenching, heart warming, keeping you on the edge of your seat sequel to Enemies of the State. The author has again managed to create a masterpiece which is filled with moments which will make you hold your breath and moments where you are too surprised by the turn of events to even know what to feel. Everything is connected and nothing is as it seems.
The book starts off right from the end of Enemies of the State and has Jack and Ethan facing a political environment where all the rules have changed. What gives them strength is the love they have for each other which is more important than anything in the world for them. What I love the most is that the story at it’s core is a love story. The story is about men who fell in love unexpectedly and who will move heaven and earth for each other. Love is celebrated so much in this story that it will capture your heart. Jack and Ethan are visceral characters. The author has portrayed their love in a way which makes them and their emotions feel real and makes us feel. They don’t feel like two characters in a book rather two living breathing men who are in love. Their deep passion and love and the way they are with each other is portrayed realistically in a way to be soul-stirring. It is easy to get lost in the depth and intensity of their love. There were moments which made me cry and moments which made me laugh with joy for them. Their love and the way they are together just made me fall in love with them more. Jack and Ethan gave me major relationship goals.
What is also equally important is the suspense/thriller element of the story. The book kept twisting and turning so much that there were times when I really wanted to throw my kindle due to what was happening. The book answered so many questions and left me with even more. Also noteworthy is the secondary characters. They all are equally important and have their own parallel plot lines. Every single character, every single event, no matter big or small is connected and is headed towards something huge. The book ends in a point where so much makes sense and so much does not and you are left feeling the emotions the characters are feeling. I really can’t wait to read the next book to know what happens, where Jack, Ethan and everyone are headed and how their love withstands all.
Enemy of My Enemy is a masterfully crafted suspense thriller with an equally beautiful and heart warming love story which will take you on a journey guaranteed to give you an unforgettable ride. A must read for all M/M aficionados.
